Important notes

Since 1 September 2026 the Mount Rinjani National Park Office has temporarily stopped new climbing bookings because of the forest fire risk, and the Torean trail has been closed since 23 September 2026. Contact us for the next opening date.
TNGR rules: a minimum of 2 people per group, a guide is mandatory, tickets are booked through the eRinjani app, and a health check is required before climbing.
Official national park ticket per person per day (Sembalun/Senaru trails): foreign visitors IDR 250,000; Indonesian visitors IDR 50,000 on weekdays or IDR 75,000 on holidays. For Indonesian visitors we recalculate the total using these ticket prices.
The climb requires good health and previous hiking experience.

About the destination

Mount Rinjani (3,726 m) is the highest mountain on Lombok and part of Mount Rinjani National Park. Its caldera holds Segara Anak Lake, with the young volcano Barujari on its eastern side; near the lake are hot springs where climbers usually soak.

The Sembalun trail in the east starts gently across savanna, then climbs Bukit Penyesalan before Plawangan Sembalun, the starting point for the summit climb. Official information, including trail opening status, is published on the Mount Rinjani National Park website.
